:::*Sure, for starters the first sentence has two very long clauses beginning with "who", which makes it a bit difficult on the reader. I'm also wondering if there should be a "the" before certain teams, like "Junior All-American Team", etc. That's the most of it, I think. :*I'm concerned about the referencing in this article. For one, the article is a compilation of different organizations that pick Underclass All-Americans. For most of those organizations, the article only cites that particular organization. The sources given for the sentence "College Football News (CFN) chooses annual NCAA Division I men's college football Freshman All-American teams that it calls All-Freshman teams" do not actually make that claim. --Carabinieri (talk) 16:22, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
:::* Related to Carabinieri's concern, I have serious doubts about the notability of these lists, but so far I have stopped short of nominating the article at AfD. As near as I can determine from the sources cited and what I find in Google searching, sports reporters at media outlets like Sporting News and ESPN generate lists of top underclassmen based on information from news sources (for example, Sporting News says: "All Sporting News college basketball awards were voted on by staff writers and editors, in consultation with coaches and scouts around the country") and then publish articles about their own lists. Unlike the situation with "regular" (all-class) All-American designations, I don't find indications that other publications pick up the information and publish articles about the various underclass lists. Accordingly, this topic does not look notable to me. :* I find myself singularly underwhelmed by the article about Mermaid. From the article, I couldn't figure out where it is (the location is a redlink). A little web research indicates that it's not in Miami proper (as the article states), but in Miami Beach, at the Jackie Gleason Center at the Miami Beach Convention Center. (See this article for more information.) There have been problems with maintenance of the artwork, but it was restored and rededicated in 2001 (according to this webpage) and again in 2010 (according to this page). The Jackie Gleason Center is being torn down (or perhaps has already been torn down), and I haven't figured out what the current status of the sculpture is. I don't believe that an article that is so unclueful about its topic as this one is deserves to be featured on the main page. --Orlady (talk) 22:17, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

:*Regarding hooks, IMO the best way to handle these is to look for separate hooks for the two articles. There is no particularly good reason to connect these two articles, as only thing these artworks appear to have in common is that they were commissioned as public art. However, Mural with Blue Brushstroke incorporates elements of the artist's other works, including Artist's Studio—Look Mickey, which in turn incorporates another earlier work. IMO, Blush Brushstroke should be combined with the May 9th nomination for Artist's Studio—Look Mickey and Look Mickey, to make a single 3-article hook. See Template:Did you know nominations/Artist's Studio—Look Mickey, Look Mickey. --Orlady (talk) 22:28, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
**I had paired them up mainly because I had nominated about 3 dozen Roy Lichtenstein articles paired up into about 2 dozen hooks within a week and common procedure when you are nominating dozens of similar articles is to pair them up. You might look at two of them that have been paired up and say these two don't really have to go together, but when you think about putting 3 dozen similar hooks onto the main page it is best for the group of them if you pair a lot of them up. In this case we are pairing up his two most prominent commissioned works (which obviously go together naturally). Of course, if you prefer when I do 3 dozen similar hooks I could make it a policy to nominate them all individually.--TonyTheTiger <small>(T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) </small> 03:50, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
***Given the need for balance in DYK hook sets, the DYK regulars appreciate your efforts to combine two articles into a dual hook. The problem is that, although there are interesting aspects in both articles, the combined hook about public-art commissions is duller than dishwater. A small army of reviewers has been trying to come up with a more interesting hook, but the fact is that the two artworks seem to have little in common. --Orlady (talk) 05:04, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
****Actually, those are two pretty damn dull articles, which makes hook finding difficult. I am not sure separating them makes the hooks that much better.--TonyTheTiger <small>(T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) </small> 05:37, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
*****I don't know about that. The anon's suggested hook for "Blue Brushstroke" is a whole lot more interesting than the fact that it was one of Lichtenstein's several commissioned pieces of public art. As for "Mermaid", I thought there was a lot of interesting content in the various webpages I turned up, mostly about the various problems encountered over the years in maintaining the sculpture. --Orlady (talk) 15:45, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
***It's great to have about 3 dozens of Roy Lichtenstein related nominations, but it's best to spread them out rather than bunching them together for no reason. If you want to make policy, then decide on whether to bunch them up base on the availability of a good hook. --69.158.118.187 (talk) 05:20, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

::*I believe that you are mistaken regarding the sampling of a sampling of work that you describe.--TonyTheTiger <small>(T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) </small> 01:14, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
: As of February 2012, the theater is still standing so I would assume the sculpture is still there. <font color="darkgreen">Froggerlaura</font> <font color="maroon">ribbit</font> 23:37, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

* I see no strong reasons to pair up these two articles in particular for a double hook. Please split them up.
:*ALT 3 ... that Mermaid in Miami Beach was Roy Lichtenstein's first commissioned public art?
