Consequently, film articles with an explanatory addition to the title (e.g. ''The Admirable Crichton (film)'') should have the clean title entered, in order for the explanation not to be displayed.

Template:Bfidb title displays an external link to a web page for a film title in the "Films, TV and people" section of the British Film Institute (BFI) database. It is intended for use in the external links section of an article.

Usage

If the subject of the Wikipedia article is the same as the BFI page, only the ID number is required. The template then uses the Wikipedia article name as the anchor text.

To have the link text be other than the article name, use the second parameter.

Parameters

Parameter Notes
id Programme id given after http://www.bfi.org.uk/films-tv-people/sift/title/. For example, the The Admirable Crichton (1957 film) entry is at http://www.bfi.org.uk/films-tv-people/sift/title/45501 and the ID is 45501.
title Programme title, for the above example this would be The Admirable Crichton. This parameter is optional; it defaults to the Wikipedia article name, without any disambiguation such as "(film)".

Example

Usage:

* {{Bfidb title | 45501 | The Admirable Crichton }}
* {{Bfidb title |id= 45501 |title= The Admirable Crichton }}

Output:

Former URL:
