Although the second attribute is optional, it may be desired when the DMoz category has two or more words.  The ''dmoz'' template defaults to using Wiki capitalization defaults (only the first word is capitalized), whereas at DMoz, multi-word category names follow more traditional capitalization rules (all words capitalized except connectives).  So if "Workers' Compensation" is the text you want users to see, include it as the second attribute. Otherwise, at the [[Workers' compensation]] article:

Note that DMOZ was taken offline by AOL starting March 14, 2017. This template maps to Curlie.org, a directory based on DMOZ, and maintained by the same editor community.

Function

Link to the former DMOZ categories and profiles.

Usage

This template has two distinct formats for linking to DMOZ categories and DMOZ profiles.

Categories

To link to a category, give the path to the category as the first parameter, and an optional name as the second parameter. If no name is provided, the template will use the name of the page.

{{Curlie|Path/To/Category|Category's name}}

Make sure to remove the Curlie.org domain name and any leading or trailing slashes from the path; these will be provided by the template. For instance, the URI for Abraham Lincoln's Curlie category is:

https://curlie.org/Society/History/By_Region/North_America/United_States/Presidents/Lincoln,_Abraham/

so the path should be given as:

Society/History/By_Region/North_America/United_States/Presidents/Lincoln,_Abraham

Example:

{{Curlie|Society/History/By_Region/North_America/United_States/Presidents/Lincoln,_Abraham|Abraham Lincoln}}

Appears as:

Abraham Lincoln at Curlie

Any content in the article namespace which transcludes this template will be added to the tracking category Articles with Curlie links. Link checkers from both projects can ensure that these links work properly and reduce redundancy in our external links sections.

Profiles

To link to profile rather than a category, include the word 'user' as a third parameter.

{{Curlie|Your username|Your name|user}}

Example:

{{Curlie|skrenta|Rich Skrenta|user}}

Appears as:

Rich Skrenta at Curlie
