: Interesting sad tree story, on good sources, offline source accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. The image is licensed, but I'm afraid shows almost nothing in stamp size. Please think about rewording hooks you care about with that possibility in mind. I like the original best, but would try not to pipe the trees name. I find the other names also more pittoresk than this image. The ALTs would need mentioning that this Larder is veteran tree. - Could you please give the images a commons category? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:40, 28 December 2019 (UTC) | : Interesting sad tree story, on good sources, offline source accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. :::: , thank you for the ALTs! My preference is ALT3, ending on outlaw. If a quirky is needed, ALT6 is good. I leave the original just in case a prep builder wants the pic. The long quote says more about the autor than the tree, and the boiling hook more about careless girls, but if that's what's wanted, I won't be in the way. I'll do the cat for you, then. Could you please see if you can support my nom for Peter Schreier at In the news, WP:ITNN? The regulars all seem busy or on holiday or gone, sadly. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:15, 28 December 2019 (UTC) | :::: , thank you for the ALTs! Interesting sad tree story, on good sources, offline source accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:40, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
- OK here's a few ALTS:
- ALT3: ... that the veteran tree Robin Hood's Larder got its name as it is reputed to have been used as a food store by the outlaw?
- ALT4: ... that the Robin Hood's Larder veteran tree was described as "an old, old man who will be brave to the end"?
- ALT5: ... that the Robin Hood's Larder veteran tree was badly burnt by a group of schoolgirls trying to boil a kettle?
- ALT6: ... that Robin Hood's Larder is also known as th Butcher's Oak, the Slaughter Tree and the Shambles Oak?
- I don't really edit at Commons- Dumelow (talk) 10:53, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
