White House COVID-19 outbreak
- ... that at the announcement of the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the US Supreme Court, the President, his wife, several White House staff, and two senators may have been exposed to COVID-19?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Okama Report
- Comment: This nomination was originally made as a double-nom suggestion at Template:Did you know nominations/2020 United States Supreme Court vacancy
Created by Feoffer (talk). Nominated by Feminist (talk) at 12:26, 3 October 2020 (UTC).
- Template:Ping I can't now approve this as I am the nominator. --evrik (talk) 19:26, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Template:Ping You jumped the gun. I was going to ask Template:U to open this nomination. I've re-formatted the template with the correct name and nomination date. We need a hook that's just for this article, and then you can review it. Maybe we should wait for Template:U to weigh in? Yoninah (talk) 19:34, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hmm. Any hook for this article should focus on a fact that is not widely reported in the press, or at least something that is not widely talked about. The point of DYK is for the hook to be interesting to readers; something they already know would not cut it. Honestly, I don't know what fact from the article readers will be most interested in right now. This is a fast-moving situation, so what is interesting now may not be interesting in a few days, and we may need to constantly monitor DYK compliance. feminist (talk) | free Hong Kong 02:00, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- The fact that more people keep getting sick is interesting. --evrik (talk) 03:43, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- Surely Americans already know that? We can't really have a hook that says "... that more people keep getting sick from the White House COVID-19 outbreak?". Maybe we can if we can promote this quickly enough to the main page. But I don't really have many ideas in mind for hooks. feminist (talk) | free Hong Kong 11:01, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- ALT1: ... that a COVID-19 outbreak at the White House infected 36 people, including the President, First Lady, three senators, and a governor? Yoninah (talk) 11:19, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- Template:Outdent That works, but we will need to update the "36" figure so that it remains up to date by the time it reaches the main page.

Approving ALT1, article new enough, long enough, and adequately cited, neutral, interesting hook, image used in the article (better image can be used, if there is one), QPQ has been done, copyvio catches unavoidable words, Good to go! ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 16:57, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
