🙈 Purpose 🙌

This template is meant to allow people to conveniently use the Unicode emoticons:

Template:Unicode chart Emoticons

The names from the mouseover text above work if used directly, and usually if condensed to a key word ("grinning" or "unamused" for example). The templates involving the cat have shortcuts like "cat wry", "heart-shaped" is abbreviated to "heart", "open mouth" is usually omitted, closed = "tightly-closed eyes". Look at the source (or add your own shortcut) if your first try doesn't work.

One parameter "color" is accepted.

The template doesn't take a size parameter because it displays text which can easily be resized with <big>. Usually, to avoid disrupting the flow of lines with oversized icons, it's best to put up with a small size or, preferably, use them in headers.

This template isn't meant to work with images like in Template:Like and Template:Dislike do. The goal is to blend seamlessly into the normal processing of text.
