Usage

{{FJC Bio}} allows linking to the Biographical Directory of Federal Judges of the Federal Judicial Center, using parameter of subject.

This template adds articles to Category:Wikipedia articles incorporating text from the Biographical Directory of Federal Judges.

Parameters

  • {{{1}}} (optional; will fetch value from Wikidata if possible) = ID number of the biography you are linking to (see below). NOTE: Some biographies use three-digit IDs, others may use two or four digits
  • {{{name}}} (optional) = Name, which should only be necessary if {{PAGENAME}} has a disambiguating name, such as "… (politician)"
  • {{{inline}}} (optional) = 1 or yes which is necessary to use it in a footnote reference
  • {{{access-date}}} (optional) = Adds a retrieval date to the citation. Format unfortunately does not respect {{Use mdy dates}} tags and must be specified using |date-format=mdy.

Format

  • {{FJC Bio}} or
  • {{FJC Bio | 1234 | John Smith }}

Examples

Typical

John Joseph Gibbons's biography is at http://www.fjc.gov/servlet/tGetInfo?jid=844,
So {{FJC Bio|844}} will display an itemized external link to that biography:

Using inline

To use the template without the itemizing bullet, type {{FJC Bio|844|inline=1}}:

John Joseph Gibbons at the Biographical Directory of Federal Judges, a public domain publication of the Federal Judicial Center.Script error: No such module "EditAtWikidata".Template:WikidataCheck
