The column ''Family'' contains the generic English name of the language's [[language family|family]], which serves as a key to a ''c'''O'''llection'' or '''''M'''acro'' language scope.

The source for all codes and English names is the ISO 639-3 registration authority.

Usage

Used by {{ISO 639-3 header}} to display a navigation bar at the top of ISO 639:a and related lists. A letter as an unnamed parameter adds "starting with <letter>" to the introductory sentence:

{{ISO 639-3 navigation|A}}
