Usage

  • Place the template using {{Inactive userpage blanked}}
  • To add a reason, fill in the "reason" section: {{Inactive userpage blanked|reason=}}

This template may be used to hide (rather than delete) userpages of inactive users. It should only be used on userpages of users who have been inactive for twelve months or more. This is preferable to deleting the page, because if the inactive user returns to editing, they can easily retrieve the content from the page's edit history.

The template takes one parameter, "reason", which can be used to specify the reason that the userpage was blanked.

If you wish, you can notify the page creator by using {{subst:uw-staleuserpageblanked|Page blanked}} ~~~~.

Instructions

Formerly, substituting this template added the __NOINDEX__ magic word to the page being blanked, to stop search engines from indexing the blanked page. Now, however, all pages in the user namespace are NOINDEXed by default.
