This template should not be used directly, nor should articles using {{Infobox film}} be changed to use this template simply by changing "{{Infobox film" to "{{Infobox television film", as this will result in errors and/or incorrect display of data. As a result of this discussion, in May 2015 this infobox was merged with {{Infobox television}} which has a different parameter set to {{Infobox film}}. For television films, use {{Infobox television}}. For theatrical release films use {{Infobox film}}. If a television film incorrectly uses {{Infobox film}} it will be necessary to change some parameters to ensure the correct parameter set is used.

To convert TV film articles currently using {{Infobox film}} to use {{Infobox television}} simply follow this process:

  1. Open an edit window
  2. Replace {{Infobox film with {{subst:Infobox television film/Cleanup
  3. Save changes

This replaces infobox film specific fields with infobox television fields and reformats the infobox into the format used by infobox television.
