This template is used to inform editors that they are being discussed on the administrative noticeboards. Note that this applies to ALL types of users, whether they be an admin, a new user, or an anon IP.

This template does not necessarily imply wrongdoing on an editor; all editors who are merely involved in a behavioral dispute (e.g. previous blocking administrators of blocked users) can or must also be notified.

Usage

{{subst:ANI-notice|topic|noticeboard=noticeboard of discussion|reason=reason for discussion|thread=thread name of the discussion}} ~~~~

Parameters

  • topic - optional parameter that links to the page (e.g. an article) being discussed (WP:TOPIC
  • thread - optional parameter that links to thread (e.g. on a talk page) that user is being discussed at (WP:THREAD)
  • noticeboard - a parameter that can be changed to reflect the appropriate noticeboard (such as WP:AN rather than WP:ANI)
  • reason - a parameter that can be changed to reflect a more specific reason why the editor is being discussed (e.g. an abuse of administrative power)
