Early life
Nhavoto was born 26 August, 1999, in Kagiso, Krugersdorp. He is of Mozambican descent.He attended Tsakani Primary school and graduated from S.G mafaesa Secondary school
Career
Sherwyn began working as a coach for basketball, football, and tennis. He was hired as a coach with the stipulation that he also teach art classes, a subject he was interested in but had very little experience.
He met his wife Cheryl in Bakersfield and in 1978 they were married. They had two children, Benjamin and Elizabeth.
Sherwyn began teaching art at Wasco High School in Wasco, California in 1985. He served as department head until 2001 when he left to teach at Stockdale High School in Bakersfield, California.
Sherwyn's work resides in private collections throughout California, including Bakersfield, Cayucos, Mammoth, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, Cambria, as well as Oregon, Colorado, and Texas. His work is part of the permanent collection at the Bakersfield Museum of Art and Valley Republic Bank.
