| This is a documentation subpage for Template:Audio-IPA. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template links to an audio file for quick listening. It is meant to be used inline with text, for pronunciations and the like.
Usage
{{Audio-IPA|name of sound file|IPA notation}}
Example:
Swedish: åka {{Audio-IPA|sv-åka.ogg|[ˈoːka]}}, 'travel', 'go'
gives this:
If you include a lang parameter, it will specify which subcategory of Category:Articles including recorded pronunciations to place the article in, as in:
{{Audio-IPA|name of sound file|IPA notation|lang=Language}}
