Template:Location map Malaysia is a location map definition used to overlay markers and labels on an equirectangular projection map of Malaysia. The markers are placed by latitude and longitude coordinates on the default map or a similar map image.

Usage

These definitions are used by the following templates when invoked with parameter "Malaysia":

Map definition

Alternative map

The map defined as image1 (Template:Location map/data/Malaysia) can be displayed by using the relief or AlternativeMap parameters in {{Location map}}, {{Location map many}} and {{Location map+}}. The map defined as image2 (Template:Location map/data/Malaysia) can only be displayed by using the AlternativeMap parameter. The use of these two parameters is shown in the examples below. Additional examples can be found at:

Precision

Longitude: from West to East this map definition covers Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". degrees.

  • At an image width of 250 pixels, that is Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". degrees per pixel.
  • At an image width of 1000 pixels, that is Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". degrees per pixel.

Latitude: from North to South this map definition covers Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". degrees.

  • At an image height of 250 pixels, that is Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". degrees per pixel.
  • At an image height of 1000 pixels, that is Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". degrees per pixel.

Examples using location map templates

Location map, using default map (image)

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
{{Location map | Malaysia
| width   = 250
| lat_deg = 3.136
| lon_deg = 101.688
| label   = Kuala Lumpur
}}

Location map many, using relief map (image1)

{{Location map many | Malaysia
| relief   = yes
| width    = 250
| caption = Two locations in Malaysia
| lat1_deg = 3.136
| lon1_deg = 101.688
| label1   = Kuala Lumpur
| lat2_deg = 5.971
| lon2_deg = 116.095
| label2   = Kota Kinabalu
}}

Location map+, using AlternativeMap

{{Location map+ | Malaysia
| AlternativeMap = Malaysia relief location map.jpg
| width   = 250
| caption = Two locations in Malaysia
| places  =
  {{Location map~ | Malaysia
  | lat_deg = 3.136
  | lon_deg = 101.688
  | label   = Kuala Lumpur
  }}
  {{Location map~ | Malaysia
  | lat_deg = 5.971
  | lon_deg = 116.095
  | label   = Kota Kinabalu
  }}
}}
