Usage

This template creates a {{cite web}} citation to New South Wales State Heritage Register and the Heritage Office on the State Heritage Inventory, a searchable reference source on the heritage places of New South Wales, Australia.

{{cite NSW SHR | "database id" | "title" | fn = "New South Wales State Heritage Register (NSW SHR) File number (optional)" | ln = "Heritage Act - State Heritage Register Listing number (optional)" | accessdate = 2025-12-18 }}

There is no error checking. Specifying an incorrect ID will result in a link to a non-existing record.

Mandatory Parameters

There are two mandatory unnamed parameters

  1. Place ID number. It is found at the end of the URL.
  2. A title. If empty it defaults to BASEPAGENAME.

Example

For example, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music record can be referenced using

{{cite NSW SHR|5060991|Conservatorium of Music}}

resulting in:

"Conservatorium of Music". New South Wales State Heritage Register. Office of Environment and Heritage.

Optional parameters

The optional parameters are:

  • The New South Wales State Heritage Register (NSW SHR) File number can be specified using the optional fn field
  • The Heritage Act - State Heritage Register Listing number can be specified using the optional ln field
  • In addition, the access date can be specified using the |accessdate= parameter.

Examples

File number

{{cite NSW SHR|5060991|Conservatorium of Music|fn=S97/00190/007}}

resulting in:

"Conservatorium of Music". New South Wales State Heritage Register. Office of Environment and Heritage. HS97/00190/007.

Listing number

{{cite NSW SHR|5051846|Denison Bridge|ln=01665}}

resulting in:

"Denison Bridge". New South Wales State Heritage Register. Office of Environment and Heritage.

More examples

Use of |accessdate= parameter:

{{cite NSW SHR|5060991|Conservatorium of Music|accessdate=2017-02-25}}

result:

"Conservatorium of Music". New South Wales State Heritage Register. Office of Environment and Heritage. Retrieved 2017-02-25.

Harvard style referencing

This template provides a simple Harvard style reference, using SHR followed by the ID number. For example, to reference the Conservatorium of Music, use {{sfn|SHR5060991}} or {{harvnb|SHR5060991}}, as appropriate. Year referencing is not supported at this time.
