Template:Outdated

Usage

This template creates a {{cite web}} citation to Russ Rowlett's The Lighthouse Directory.

Parameters

There is one mandatory unnamed parameter, which is the case-sensitive page designation. The designation appears at the end of the page url.

For example: http://www.ibiblio.org/lighthouse/jpst.htm - the designation is jpst.

In addition, date and access date can be specified using the date and accessdate fields.

Error checking is done, thus using {{cite rowlett|foo}} will result in an error:

Rowlett, Russ. "Lighthouses of Error: invalid page designation when using {{[[Template:cite rowlett|cite rowlett]]}}[[:Template:Namespace detect showall]]". The Lighthouse Directory. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. URL–wikilink conflict (help)

With the addition of |link=no, the publisher (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) can be rendered without a link. This is useful when multiple citations to the directory are used to avoid overlinking in the references section.

Examples:

{{cite rowlett|isr}}

Rowlett, Russ. "Lighthouses of Israel". The Lighthouse Directory. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

{{cite rowlett|isr|date=July 26, 2009|accessdate=August 3, 2010}}

Rowlett, Russ (July 26, 2009). "Lighthouses of Israel". The Lighthouse Directory. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Retrieved August 3, 2010.

Harvard style referencing

This template provides a simple Harvard style reference, using {{sfn|Rowlett}} or {{harvnb|Rowlett}}, as appropriate. However, year referencing is not supported at this time.

One can also specify the ref parameter to use other tags.
