| This is a documentation subpage for Template:Clarifyref. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
- This template must be substituted. Unfortunately it either must be used just after a
<ref>...</ref>or must be substituted first then at the end of the<ref>...</ref>tags' marked up content, since the tags thwart the ability of MediaWiki to act onsubst:for some reason.
This is a customized instance of {{Clarify}}, that templates the once tedious task of flagging badly done reference citations. It also automatically includes the date.
{{subst:Clarifyref}}
The code in the article will then read:
{{Clarify|date=January 2010|reason=<nowiki>This is not a proper reference citation. Use [[Template:Cite web]] or similar to provide source details. Use <ref...> inline in the article (see [[WP:CITE]]) to source the specific facts provided by this reference.</nowiki>}}
