Andy Nisbet

Andy Nisbet, mountaineer
Andy Nisbet, mountaineer
  • ... that Scottish climber Andy Nisbet (pictured) gained the nickname ‘The Honey Monster’ because of his unkempt, red hair and beard that resembled the Sugar Puffs mascot?
Source: "Many crags in Scotland have a “Nisbet route”, pioneered by the man nicknamed “the Droid”, a reference to his ungainly style on the mountains, or “the Honey Monster” on account of his unkempt red hair and beard." {The Times; UK Climbing)
    • ALT1:... that mountaineer Andy Nisbet (pictured) has created more than 1,000 new winter climbing routes in Scotland?
Source: "Andy Nisbet was the most active prolific mountaineer that Scotland has ever produced, with over 1,000 new winter routes to his name" (British Mountaineering Council; BBC))
  • Comment: In light of Nisbet's death earlier this week in a winter mountaineerting accident, this article may be expanded in the days ahead as further obituaries emerge.
  • QPQ Review: St Peter's Bridge, Burton upon Trent

Created by Nick Moyes (talk). Self-nominated at 02:50, 11 February 2019 (UTC).

  • New enough and long enough. Though there's no mention of the sugar puffs mascot in the actual article. ALT1 looks good. In general though I think it would be a good idea to put something about his death in the lead. And obviously we need your QPQ. Damien Linnane (talk) 09:25, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
  • (edit conflict)Template:Re Great minds think alike: I've just this second been adding added his death to the lead. Done and QPQ issue is addressed  Done. Sugar Puffs mascot now explicitly mentioned Done. I've also inserted a comment (originally lost through our edit conflict) pointing out that his recent death this week means the article may well be enhanced further in the days ahead. If you're likely to go for ALT1, maybe it would be good to modify it to refer to him as ...'pioneering mountaineer...' as this is supported in the article, and reflects his achievements. Nick Moyes (talk) 09:48, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
  • Symbol confirmed.svg Looks good to me now. I'd be happy with either the primary hook or ALT1. Well done on the article. :) Damien Linnane (talk) 09:58, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
