• Symbol confirmed.svg...QPQ done, no copyvio issues, not a stub, image ok and out of copyright, both proposed hook and ALT1 pass. Where it says "said to be oldest"...should you say who says so? As always, a pleasure to read your work Template:Ping. Thank you Whispyhistory (talk) 12:55, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Whispyhistory. It is from a Yorkshire Post article but I suspect it is a local tradition/folklore type thing. We can change to "was reputedly planted in the Roman period" or similar, or just go with ALT0. I don't mind. Cheers - Dumelow (talk) 13:25, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
em...2nd thought...leave it as it is. Whispyhistory (talk) 13:32, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi Whispyhistory, I found some more tidbits in another book and would like to offer up a couple of alts. Though you'll have to AGF on my offline source - Dumelow (talk) 18:37, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
ALT2: ... that the Cowthorpe Oak was mentioned in William Shakespeare's As You Like It ?
ALT3: ... that 70 people were said to be able to fit in the hollow trunk of the Cowthorpe Oak?
Symbol voting keep.svg ALT2 and ALT3....I prefer ALT2. AGF on offline sourcesWhispyhistory (talk) 01:03, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
