This template is intended to allow simple standardized links to digital object identifiers (DOIs). Usually, {{cite doi}} is a much better choice, because it will automatically complete the entire citation in most cases.

Usage

{{doi|10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001}}

which produces:

doi:10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001Template:Only in print

Usually, this template is preferred:

{{cite doi|10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001}}

which produces:

Attention: This template ({{cite doi}}) is deprecated. To cite the publication identified by doi:10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001, please use {{cite journal}} with |doi=10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001 instead.
