Usage

This template is used to indicate that you encountered an edit conflict when you were replying to a comment in a discussion.

The number of conflicts you encountered may also be specified as an unnamed parameter to the template.

Thus one can

  • document that, if any mistakes (or seemingly offensive actions) where made, the probable reason
  • make it clear with this template that one is replying to an older state of a discussion
