On June 2020 after the unjust murder of George Floyd, Base Butter has shifted its focus to be of service to those in need of support as they stand on the frontlines to take a stand. “Our mission is to help make skincare easy while our purpose is to help women, especially Black women, protect and feel comfortable in their skin. It’s a mission built on the historical context of being oppressed due to the color of our skin. It’s a mission focused on strengthening how we view ourselves within the skin we’re in. It’s because of this, that we’re taking some time to rally with allies to help move the needle by protecting the Black lives of those on the frontlines and bringing comfort to those who need it most. More information coming later this week.”<ref>Faurote, Adrienne. Support to Black Lives Matter
More information coming later this week.”[2]
