| Declination | {{{dec}}} |
| Apparent dimension (V) | {{{appdim_v}}} |
This template is part of a group of templates that are used to display astronomical information related to a specific star or stellar system. The {{Galaxybox begin}} template is always first in the list. It can be used as follows:
{{Galaxybox observe
| epoch = <!--Epoch of coordinates-->
| constell = <!--Constellation name-->
| ra = <!--Right Ascension-->
| dec = <!--Declination-->
| appdim_v = <!--Dimension-->
| appmag_v = <!--Apparent magnitude (Johnson-Cousins V system)-->
}}
Use of the {{RA}} template is recommended for formatting the right ascension, and the {{DEC}} template for formatting the declination. If the apparent magnitude is not known, it may be omitted, and the apparent magnitude will then be omitted from the infobox.
For double star systems where right ascension and declination measurements are available for both components, {{Galaxybox observe 2s}} may be used.
{{Galaxybox observe}} can be preceded or followed by other Galaxybox templates:
- {{Galaxybox image}}
- {{Galaxybox observe}}
- {{Galaxybox character}}
- {{Galaxybox astrometry}}
- {{Galaxybox catalog}}
- {{Galaxybox reference}}
The list should then be closed with a {{Galaxybox end}} template.
