| This is a documentation subpage for Template:Howtoreqphoto. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
This template is used to give a common text to all the subject subcategories of Category:Wikipedia requested photographs. Just include {{Howtoreqphoto|first parameter}} at the top of the category page.
The first parameter is generally the full name for the subject as is used to create category names e.g. "cars".
additional parameters
|in=- if describing an in=location image requested category|text=(optional) - only needs to be put in if there is a shorter form that makes more sense in the main text.|link=(optional) - only needs to be put in if the Wikipedia page on the subject has a different name from the first parameter or the text parameter.|portal=- used if the related portal has a different name from the first parameter.|comcat=- used if the related Commons category has a different name from the first parameter.|proj=- used if the related Wikiproject has a different name from the first parameter.|win=- adds Wikipedians in location may be able to help!
If another template can also place articles in the category this can be specified using:
|alttp=- for the template name and|altpr=- for the parameter syntax.|onlytp=- If category is not to standard naming convention and set only by a template.
