This is a template for Christian denominations.

Usage

To use this template, simply copy and paste the following text into the article and fill in any of the parameters. Only "name" is required.

Parameters

An explanation of what each parameter is. For more information, ask on the talk page.

  1. name = the name of the denomination
  2. native_name = the name of the denomination in the organization's native language (if it is not in English and it is not the same name used in the above field)
  3. native_name_language = ISO 639-1 code for the language used in the above field
  4. image = any image associated with the denomination (logo)
  5. imagewidth = width of image, default "200px." Recommend under 200px. Used when available image is low-resolution.
  6. alt = alternative text to be displayed describing image.
  7. caption = a caption for the image
  8. abbreviation = an abbreviation (such as an acronym) for the denomination
  9. main_classification = (Roman Catholic, Protestant, Eastern-Orthodox, etc.)
  10. orientation = (main theology, e.g. Calvinism, Arminianism, Baptist)
  11. scripture = the canon of religious text used by the denomination, including non-Bible works
  12. theology = (main theology, e.g. Calvinism, Arminianism, Baptist)
  13. polity = the appropriate ecclesiastical polity
  14. governance = the appropriate ecclesiastical polity
  15. structure = organizational structure for groups that do not employ a standard ecclesiastical polity
  16. leader_title = title of religious leader; defaults to "Moderator"
  17. leader_name = name of religious leader
  18. leader_title1 = title of religious leader; defaults to "Leader"
  19. leader_name1 = name of religious leader
  20. leader_title2 = title of religious leader; defaults to "Director"
  21. leader_name2 = name of religious leader
  22. fellowships_type = field to specify the type of fellowships, default "Distinct fellowships"
  23. fellowships = names of distinct fellowships within the denomination
  24. fellowships_type1 = Alternative fellowship description
  25. fellowships_type1 = Alternative fellowships
  26. associations = names of inter-denominational associations the church is part of; e.g. International Conference of Reformed Churches
  27. area = geographical area, e.g. North America and Japan
  28. headquarters = Headquarters or main denominational office
  29. founder = the original founder
  30. founded_date = date of founding
  31. founded_place = location of founding
  32. separated_from = separation from (denomination)
  33. parent = if the denomination branched off of a parent denomination
  34. merger = if the denomination was the result of a merge
  35. absorbed = names of denominations that were absorbed into this body
  36. separations = names of denominations that have split off from this denomination
  37. merged_into = name of existing denomination into which this body was merged
  38. defunct = year in which this body ceased to exist if not merged with or into another denomination
  39. hospitals = number of church-operated hospitals
  40. nursing_homes = number of church-operated nursing homes
  41. aid = name of humanitarian aid organization run by the church, like Adventist Development and Relief Agency
  42. congregations_type = type of congregation (default "Congregations")
  43. congregations = number of congregations
  44. members = number of members
  45. ministers_type = specify the type of ministers/priests/pastors/...

  47. missionaries = number of missionaries
  48. temples = number of temples

  51. tax_status = tax classification (e.g., Internal Revenue Service 501c3 or equivalent) of the main body
  52. tertiary = number of church-operated tertiary level colleges or universities
  53. publications = names of the publications made by the denomination
  54. other_names = alternative name or names by which the denomination is/was known
  55. website = official website
  56. website_title1 = alternative website title
  57. website1 = alternative web address
  58. footnotes = any footnotes
