Since the winners of the 2015 FAI Cup, Dundalk, qualified for the Champions League based on league position, the spot awarded to the Cup winner (Europa League first qualifying round) is passed to the second-placed team, Cork City, and the spot for the third-placed team (Europa League first qualifying round) is passed to the fourth-placed team, St Patrick's Athletic.
