Revision as of 09:11, 28 August 2010

This template is used to generate an external link to the AIP "En Route Supplement - Australia" (ERSA) for a specific airport. The ERSA facilities (FAC) section contains full details for all licensed aerodromes and limited details for many unlicensed airfields.[1] It is updated four times a year and the URL changes each time, so using a template allows it to be updated in one place rather than editing multiple articles.

Usage

Parameters:

  1. (unnamed) - airport's ICAO location identifier, i.e. YPAD
  2. name (optional) - airport's location as shown in the AIP, i.e. ADELAIDE

Short version (used in airport lists):

  • Usage: {{AIP_AU|YPAD}}
  • Result: YPAD

Long version (used in airport articles):

Technical information

The "En Route Supplement - Australia" (ERSA) is updated four times per year with releases in March, June, August and November (AIRAC cycles 03, 06, 09 and 12). This causes a change in the URL which includes the new effective date, such as 5-Jun-2008 (note: no leading zero used for day of month). This template should be updated before the effective date for each new cycle. The following is list of changes required in 2009 and 2010.

2010 Amendment Cycle:

  • 11-Mar-2010 — new effective date, AIRAC cycle 1003
  •  3-Jun-2010 — new effective date, AIRAC cycle 1006
  • 26-Aug-2010 — new effective date, AIRAC cycle 1009
  • 18-Nov-2010 — new effective date, AIRAC cycle 1012

2011 Amendment Cycle:

  •  2-Jun-2011 — new effective date, AIRAC cycle 1106
  • 25-Aug-2011 — new effective date, AIRAC cycle 1109
  • 17-Nov-2011 — new effective date, AIRAC cycle 1112

A list of future publication dates and effective dates can be found at the Airservices Australia - Document Amendment Calendar.
