| This is a documentation subpage for Template:AIP NL. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template is used to generate an external link to the Netherlands Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) for a specific airport. These URLs change every 28 days, so by using a template they can be updated in one place rather than editing multiple articles.
Parameters:
- (unnamed) - airport's ICAO location identifier, i.e. EHAM
- name (optional) - airport's location, i.e. AMSTERDAM/Schiphol (as shown in the AIP).
Short version (used in airport lists):
- Usage:
{{AIP_NL|EHAM}} - Result: Error: Invalid time.-AIRAC/html/eAIP/EH-AD-2.EHAM-en-GB.html EHAM
Long version (used in airport articles):
- Usage:
{{AIP_NL|EHAM|name=AMSTERDAM/Schiphol}} - Result: Error: Invalid time.-AIRAC/html/eAIP/EH-AD-2.EHAM-en-GB.html EHAM – AMSTERDAM/Schiphol. AIP from AIS the Netherlands, effective Error: Invalid time.
Technical information
The AIP is updated on a 28-day cycle as per the ICAO. For the online version of the Netherlands AIPs this causes a change in the URL involving two dates in formatted as YYMMDD-YYMMDD, where the first is the publication date and the second is the effective or "valid from" date. The publication date is 42 days prior to the effective date. This template should be updated before the effective date for each new cycle. The following is list of changes required in 2007 and 2008.
- 090129-090312 — Effective 12 Mar 2009

To find the current effective date and URL format, go to the Electronic AIS publications page of the AIS Netherlands website and select the "Integrated Package" link. If the URL is http://www.ais-netherlands.nl/aim/090129-090312/eAIP/html/index-en-GB.html, then use 090129-090312 in place of the dates found in the template.
