Purpose
Provides an SVG representation of the International Symbol of Access
Usage
{{Access icon|width|alt text}}
Both the parameters are optional.
- The width is in pixels, and should be followed by px. For example,
{{Access icon|20px}}produces the symbol at 20 pixels wide:
. If the width parameter is omitted, the default width is 12 pixels.
- The alt text is the text that screen readers will see. The MediaWiki software also automatically uses it as the tooltip when users hover the cursor over the image. The default text is "Handicapped/disabled access".
Notes
The Unicode codepoint encoding for the International Symbol of Access is :
U+267F ♿ WHEELCHAIR SYMBOL
However, not all fonts support this character.
If you specify DejaVu Sans, for example, and have it installed, then you may use
<span style="font-size:xx-large; font-family:DejaVu Sans">♿</span>
to show ♿
