This category contains models who appear in adult-oriented materials (not models who are merely adults).
The meaning of the term is not well-defined, and it may have derogatory connotations. Relevant Wikipedia policies include:
- Categories must "be based on essential, 'defining' features of article subjects." This category is part of a structure defined in terms of occupation; the fact that a model has done some "glamour" work does not establish an occupation as an "adult model".
- "The case for each category must be made clear by the article text and its reliable sources" and "Caution should be used with categories that suggest a person has a poor reputation".
Therefore this category should not be used for mainstream models, but only for performers whose work is clearly of a hardcore "adult" nature.
