{{Albums category|<article name>|display=<display name>|type=[compilation|soundtrack|...]|the=<any text>|empty=no}}
The article name should only be specified if it is different from that in the category name. Per normal categorization rules this should rarely be the case.
The <display name> is only needed if it is different form the article name, for example {{Albums category|London Symphony Orchestra|the London Symphony Orchestra|.... Alternatively use the= for example {{Albums category|London Symphony Orchestra|the =yes|.... to provide an unlinked "the" before the band name.
empty=no will keep the category out of the Category:Empty categories, this is useful as the released MediaWiki functionality on the Wikimedia sites means that categories with "&" or "'" in their name can't be checked for emptiness.
type will change the categorization of the category to allow for compilation, soundtrack, and EP categories etc.
Uses of the template with invalid type are listed at Category:Albums category uses with invalid parameters under T.
