:* Defaults to <code>autocollapse</code>, a navbox with this state will start out collapsed if there are two or more tables on the same page that use other collapsible tables. Otherwise, the navbox will be expanded. For the technically minded, see [[MediaWiki:Common.js]].

:* If set to <code>collapsed</code>, the navbox will always start out in a collapsed state.

:* If set to <code>expanded</code>, the navbox will always start out in an expanded state.

:* If set to <code>plain</code>, the navbox will always be expanded with no [hide] link on the right, and the title will remain centered (by using padding to offset the <code>V • T • E</code> links).

:* If set to <code>off</code>, the navbox will always be expanded with no [hide] link on the right, but no padding will be used to keep the title centered. This is for advanced use only; the "plain" option should suffice for most applications where the [show]/[hide] button needs to be hidden.

The template Ancient Olympic winners creates a navbox which is given for use by articles or templates which about any winners of the Ancient Olympic Games. The navbox also provides links to relevant articles, a list of Olympic winners, the sports that competed and catalogs listed their wins.

Usage

Basic usage
{{Ancient Olympic winners}}

Initial visibility: currently defaults to autocollapse

To set this template's initial visibility, the |state= parameter may be used:

  • |state=collapsed: {{Ancient Olympic winners|state=collapsed}} to show the template collapsed, i.e., hidden apart from its title bar
  • |state=expanded: {{Ancient Olympic winners|state=expanded}} to show the template expanded, i.e., fully visible
  • |state=autocollapse: {{Ancient Olympic winners|state=autocollapse}}
    • shows the template collapsed to the title bar if there is a {{navbar}}, a {{sidebar}}, or some other table on the page with the collapsible attribute
    • shows the template in its expanded state if there are no other collapsible items on the page

If the |state= parameter in the template on this page is not set, the template's initial visibility is taken from the |default= parameter in the Collapsible option template. For the template on this page, that currently evaluates to autocollapse.

List of Olympic winners

The navbox displays a list of ancient Olympic winners determined by the Template:Ancient Olympic winners/list subpage. This list is written alphabetically and contains (by the last update) all ancient Olympic winners who had an article, with a reference, in the English Wikipedia:
