Frank Lloyd Wright grew up on his uncle's farm in rural Wisconsin and his love for the outdoors is evident in his architectural buildings. “His mother amplified his training by exposing him to the ideas of the German educator Friedrich Froebel. Froebel did not believe a child should learn to draw by copying nature but rather should undergo a system of visual education that involves manipulating wooden blocks, cubes and spheres laid on a table marked with a grid.” (Pfeiffer 1997 P.10) Throughout Wright’s career it is evident that he encompasses nature and geometric forms to bring together modern architecture.
