This template is a simplified frontend for {{Cite cgn}} and is not currently used in the article namespace. It is retained for reverse compatibility. |
Purpose
To provide a simple format to linking to information in the Geographical Names of Canada Data Base. This is specifically useful for linking information to either the "External links" or "References" sections of Wikipedia articles.
Usage
{{CGNDB|id|name}}
or
{{Cite cgn|id|name}}
or
{{CGNDB|id=id|name=name}}
or
{{Cite cgn|id=id|name=name}}
where:
idis the five-digit alphanumeric unique identifier for the geographic feature, andnameis the optional name to display (otherwise it will use the page name).
