Purpose

The Catholic Canon Law 1983 template {{CIC1983}} creates a short title-year citation in a footnote. For use with Shortened footnotes.

This template allows you to link an inline citation, using a short citation, to the corresponding full bibliographic citation of Code of Canon Law (1983): {{CIC1983bib}}. This template also creates an external link to the 1983 Code of Canon Law on the vatican.va website for the specified canon.

This template is a wrapper for several templates used to create in-text citations; they differ in the use and placement of parenthesis, in the separator before the canon number and in whether a terminal full stop (period) is present.

Usage

This is the TemplateData documentation for this template used by VisualEditor and other tools; see the monthly parameter usage report for this template.
