A key part of having an active, effective group is increasing the member size. Here's some information on inviting members.

The entire member list can be found here.

Usage

  • Look for members who have contributed to Bay Area related topics. They can be high-profile topics, such as San Francisco, or low-profile like a local school, street, BART station, etc.
  • Check the history log to see what sort of contributions users have made.
  • Go to talk pages. Users who comment on talk pages are more likely to be significant contributors. You can confirm this by checking their list of contributions.

Once you've found the member you wish to invite, add the template to his or her talk page with

{{subst:SFBA Invitation}} ~~~~

  • It's best to add a personal note, such as mentioning an article he or she has contributed to significantly.

What happens next

Once the user has joined, make sure you make him or her feel welcome. All new members should receive the following on their talk pages:

{{subst:SFBA Welcome}}

It looks like this:

Template:SFBA Welcome
