Usage
A key part of having an active, effective project or task force is increasing the member size. Here's some information on inviting members.
- Look for members who have contributed to California related topics. They can be high-profile topics, such as San Francisco, or low-profile like a local school, street, etc. You can also find them new articles at User:AlexNewArtBot/CaliforniaSearchResult.
- Check the history log to see what sort of contributions users have made.
- Go to talk pages. Users who comment on talk pages are more likely to be significant contributors. You can confirm this by checking their list of contributions.
- Look for members who live in California. This may be indicated on their user page. You can also check categories such as Category:Wikipedians in California.
Once you've found the member you wish to invite, add the template to his or her talk page with
or
- {{subst:Cal Invitation/sfba}} (San Francisco Bay Area)
- {{subst:Cal Invitation/socal}} (Southern California)
- {{subst:Cal Invitation/ie}} (Inland Empire)
- {{subst:Cal Invitation/la}} (Los Angeles)
You can specify an article they have contributed to significantly using
{{subst:Cal Invitation|art=Article name}}
Once the user has joined, make sure you make him or her feel welcome. All new members should receive a {{subst:Cal Greeting}} on their talk pages.
