Module:Location map/data/USA Georgia is a location map definition used to overlay markers and labels on an equirectangular projection map of Georgia (U.S. state). The markers are placed by latitude and longitude coordinates on the default map or a similar map image.

Usage

These definitions are used by the following templates when invoked with parameter "USA Georgia":

Map definition

  • name = Georgia (U.S. state)
    Name used in the default map caption
  • bottom = 30.2
    Latitude at bottom edge of map, in decimal degrees
  • left = -85.8
    Longitude at left edge of map, in decimal degrees
  • right = -80.6
    Longitude at right edge of map, in decimal degrees

Precision

Longitude: from West to East this map definition covers 5.2 degrees.

  • At an image width of 200 pixels, that is 0.026 degrees per pixel.
  • At an image width of 1000 pixels, that is 0.0052 degrees per pixel.

Latitude: from North to South this map definition covers 5 degrees.

  • At an image height of 200 pixels, that is 0.025 degrees per pixel.
  • At an image height of 1000 pixels, that is 0.005 degrees per pixel.

Examples using location map templates

Single location

McCaysville (Georgia (U.S. state))
{{Location map | USA Georgia
| width = 200
| lat_deg = 34 | lat_min = 58.90 | lat_dir = N
<!--34°58′54″N-->
| lon_deg = 84 | lon_min = 22.20 | lon_dir = W
<!--84°22′13″W-->
| label = McCaysville
| label_size = 90 <!-- percent 0-900% -->
| background = #FFFF99 | position = bottom
}}

Multiple locations

{{Location map many | USA Georgia
| AlternativeMap = <!--none (use default map)-->
| width = 200
| caption = Two locations in Georgia
| label = Macon
  | label_size = 90 | background = #CCCC55<!--gold-->
  | lat_deg = 32 | lat_min = 50.1 | lat_dir = N
  | lon_deg = 83 | lon_min = 39.1 | lon_dir = W
| label2 = Valdosta
  | label2_size = 90 | bg2 = #FFCC66<!--orange--> | pos2 = top
  | lat2_deg = 30 | lat2_min = 49.9 | lat2_dir = N
  | lon2_deg = 83 | lon2_min = 17.3 | lon2_dir = W
}}

Multiple locations, different markers

{{Location map many | USA Georgia
| width = 200
| caption = Atlanta and Lake Lanier
| label = Atlanta
  | label_size = 90 | background = #FFFF99 | position = left
  | lat_deg = 33 | lat_min = 45.30 | lat_dir = N
  | lon_deg = 84 | lon_min = 23.40 | lon_dir = W
| label2 = Lake Lanier
  | label2_size = 90 | bg2 = SkyBlue | pos2 = right
  | mark2 =Diamond_sheer_red_20.png | mark2size = 20
  | lat2_deg = 34 | lat2_min = 12.2 | lat2_dir = N
  | lon2_deg = 83 | lon2_min = 58.95 | lon2_dir = W
}}
