This template provides a quick, standard method of citing Racing Post's database of horse profiles for racehorse-related articles in Wikipedia.

It is a wrapper around the standard citation template {{cite web}}. As such it fills out some {{cite web}} parameters, but the full range of parameters provided by WP:CS1 are available. To change the appearance of the output to that of {{citation}} use the parameter |mode=cs2.

Usage

Two parameters are required; |horse-id= is the horse identifer (1–6 digits); |title= is also required: |access-date= is optional:

{{cite Racing Post horse profile|horse-id=304543|title=Port Etienne stud record}}

"Port Etienne stud record". Racing Post.

The syntax with all parameters is as follows:

{{cite Racing Post horse profile
  |horse-id=304543
  |title = Port Etienne stud record
  |access-date = 15 February 2012
  }}

"Port Etienne stud record". Racing Post. Retrieved 15 February 2012.
