This citation template can be used to cite Global Volcanism Program web pages using a "Volcano Number".

Usage

A search engine can be found here. If the name contains "Mount", "Peak" or something similar, enter the name without the designation. For example, for "Mount Hood" enter Hood. For Volcán de Fuego, enter Fuego.

Parameters Value
{{cite gvp
| vn =
| name =
| accessdate =
}}

Volcano Number on web page
Volcano Name on web page
Full date

Values for vn and name should be specified. Using the template with no parameters returns a link to the home page. Do not use unnamed parameters.

Examples

{{cite gvp | 262000}}"Global Volcanism Program". Smithsonian Institution.
{{cite gvp | 262000 | Krakatau }}"Krakatau". Global Volcanism Program. Smithsonian Institution.

{{cite gvp|vn=342090 |name=Volcán de Fuego |accessdate=2014-12-30}}"Volcán de Fuego". Global Volcanism Program. Smithsonian Institution. Retrieved 2014-12-30.
