| 40px | This is a documentation subpage for Template:Cleanup HTML. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
- This cleanup template can be used to tag pages that use HTML markup that can be replaced with Wiki markup.
- When adding to a page, it is helpful to other editors to specify which tags are unwanted, like this: {{cleanup HTML|tags=table, tl, td}}
These tags will be displayed in the alert box. - For a list of which tags are unwanted and instructions on how to perform cleanup, see Category:Articles with HTML markup.
{{Cleanup HTML}}puts articles into Category:Articles with HTML markup and Category:Articles covered by WikiProject Wikify- If a date parameter is provided such as
{{Cleanup HTML|date=January 2026}}then the page is put into a by-month category instead. If the date is left out, a bot will add it later. - This template is a self reference.
