When to use

Add this to the top of an article whenever:

  • There are too many red links for this article.
  • One or more of the links present (regardless of number) are inappropriate for any reason.
  • Red links are generally not included in either See also sections or in navigational boxes, or pointed to with templates such as {{Main}} or {{Further2}}, since these navigation aids are intended to help readers find existing articles. The exception is redlinks in navboxes where the articles are part of a series or a whole set, e.g. a navbox listing successive elections, referendums, presidents, sports league seasons, etc.

Please consider "weeding the link farm" yourself, rather than using this tag to ask someone else to do it. Don't forget to remove this template when the concerns appear to have been resolved.

Usage

For articles, use:

{{Cleanup red links|date=December 2025}}

To flag an individual section, use:

{{Cleanup red links|section|date=December 2025}}

This template will categorize tagged articles into Category:Wikipedia red link cleanup.
