Purpose

To apply a text tag to articles where the 1901 supplement to the DNB has been used as a point of reference for constructing the article.

Usage

There are two methods to apply:

Method one: Plain

The template without any parameters:

{{DNBSupp}} produces:
12px This article incorporates text from a publication now in the public domain: Dictionary of National Biography (1st supplement). London: Smith, Elder & Co. 1901. Missing or empty |title= (help)CS1 maint: ref=harv (link)

Method two: Piped

The template with one parameter (pipe symbol and article name) that links to the associated article at Wikisource's Dictionary of National Biography, 1901 Supplement:

{{DNBSupp|wstitle=Busher, Leonard}} produces:
12px This article incorporates text from a publication now in the public domain: "Busher, Leonard". Dictionary of National Biography (1st supplement). London: Smith, Elder & Co. 1901.CS1 maint: ref=harv (link)

Hidden category

This template includes one of two hidden subcategories of category Category:Wikipedia articles incorporating text from the Dictionary of National Biography. If a "Piped" template is used, Category:Articles incorporating DNB01 text with Wikisource reference is included. If a "plain" template is used, Category:Articles incorporating DNB01 text without Wikisource reference is included. In either case the category does not appear at the bottom of the article page, but the article is listed on the category page.
