Hello. Per the notice you received above, a tag had been placed on :Albert Einstein requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please note that after review, I have declined the deletion request so you do not need to worry about this article being speedily deleted. Please note that speedy deletion is only one of three deletion processes on Wikipedia; my decline does not prevent users from invoking the separate, longer term deletion methods of proposed deletion or bringing the article to articles for deletion. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.<!-- Template:Declinedsd -->

Purpose

Past experience has shown that many inexperienced users, once informed of a speedy deletion nomination by a warning notice at their talk page, will not realize the speedy has been declined until directly informed of the tag's removal, which this template provides.

This template is thus placed on the talk page of a user who:

i) created an article which had been tagged for speedy deletion;
ii) who had been warned about the speedy deletion; and
iii) for which the speedy deletion was declined.

This template relieves users of the pall that a pending speedy deletion nomination may be felt as. The use of this template may also save community resources, by avoiding the user making requests at various fora to try to "save" their creation from a speedy deletion nomination that has already been declined, e.g., posts at the help desk and Teahouse, helpme requests, various talk page posts, or the many request we see at WP:REFUND to stop speedies (despite the inappropriateness of that forum for such a request).

Usage

 • This template should always be substituted and will break if transcluded.
 • In addition to header options (below), this template takes two parameters, the first of which is required:
 1. You must place the name of the article you have declined to speedy delete as a first parameter:
 2. You can optionally supply the reason you declined speedy deletion as a second parameter, which will follow the words "on the basis that" when the parameter is used:

Header options

 • An automatic header can be placed using:
 • Or the header can be customized using:

Example use

, results in (normally hidden text shown):

Speedy deletion of Albert Einstein declined

Hello. Per the notice you received above, a tag had been placed on Albert Einstein requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please note that after review, I have declined the deletion request on the basis that the article properly indicated importance/significance by noting that he won Nobel Prize in Physics, so you do not need to worry about this article being speedily deleted. However, speedy deletion is not the only deletion processes on Wikipedia; my decline does not prevent users from invoking other, longer term deletion methods, such as for an article, proposing its deletion or nominating it at articles for deletion. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.z2<!-- Template:Declinedsd -->

Tracking

This template's usage may be tracked by checking what links here for its z number template, z2. Restrict the search to the user talk namespace (link).
