1951 Atlantic C-124 disappearance
- ... that in 1951, a United States Air Force Douglas C-124 Globemaster II vanished, and neither the occupants nor the plane were ever recovered?

The last two sentences of the lead need citations. Refs need to be written out in full. The first ref is apparently broken; it links to a page about an unrelated 1993 collision over Iran. Slight inconsistency: the article says all that was found was "a few charred crates and a partly deflated life raft", while the cited source says it was "some charred plywood and a single briefcase". It would be good to have some more news/book sources to demonstrate the lasting notability of this incident. DoctorKubla (talk) 11:07, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
