:[[File:Symbol voting keep.svg|16px]] Sorry for strikes but alt 1 and 2 have no ref. Alt3 is only a footnote - but it is reffed. Length and refs are fine. No paraphrasing spotted. No QPQ required. Ben-Hur (1959 film)

Ben Hur poster, 1959

  • ... that a stuntman died filming Ben-Hur (poster pictured)?
  • Comment: I know it's a myth, but saying 'a stuntman is alleged to have died filming...' doesn't have the same short consise nature

Improved to Good Article status by Dr. Blofeld (talk). Nominated by Matty.007 (talk) at 14:27, 22 March 2014 (UTC).

The hook is misleading as it's an urban legend not fact. A DYK should be a fact.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:35, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

What about putting in that a stuntman might have died? Matty.007 14:37, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

I'd be more inclined to go with DYK that Charlton Heston used unused footage from Ben-Hur in the making of Antony and Cleopatra?♦

Alt 1: ... that Ben-Hur (poster pictured) had the largest budget and the largest set of any film produced?
Alt 2: ... that Ben-Hur (poster pictured) used 200 camels, 2,500 horses, and 10,000 extras to film?
Alt 3: ... that Ben-Hur (publicity pictured) had so much unused footage, Charlton Heston used some in Antony and Cleopatra? Thanks, Matty.007 14:46, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Hey, really nice article. Here's one little factoid that I thought was interesting:
Alt 4:... that Ben-Hur (poster pictured) was the first film in MGM history in which the lion logo was not seen roaring?
--Coretheapple (talk) 16:11, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Ben-Hur wasn't the first MGM movie in which its lion didn't roar. Actually, Slats, the very first MGM lion (the one from the silent era) didn't roar at all. Template:Youtube. The first roaring lion appeared in 1928 in White Shadows in the South Seas, MGM's first part-takie film. El Matador (talk) 22:14, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Then the article needs to be fixed, as it says that. Coretheapple (talk) 13:01, 27 March 2014 (UTC)

Template:Ping It would be good if you could include use a free photo here and find a hook related to it so it comes as the top DYK.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:14, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

Any reason we can't use the film poster, which is in the public domain? Thanks, Matty.007 17:15, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
