Bhusawal–Kalyan section
- ... that the elevation of the Bhusawal-Kalyan railway line in western India rises by 970 ft (296 m) within a span of 9.5 mi (15 km) across Thul Ghat?
- Reviewed: A Short Walk in the Hindu Kush
Created by Chandan Guha (talk). Self nominated at 13:36, 5 April 2013 (UTC).
- Added ALT1 and ALT2 - Chandan Guha (talk) 02:26, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
ALT1... that Lasalgaon on the Bhusawal-Kalyan railway line is the largest onion market in Asia?
- ALT2
- ... that Indian Railways have cleared the construction of Manmad–Indore and Nashik–Pune new lines, starting from the Bhusawal–Kalyan railway line, after sixteen years of active lobbying?
- Based on reviews of another article of mine, Nagpur-Bhusawal section, I have attempted to improve this article. I have struck out ALT1 as the text on which it was based was deleted during reorganisation. Shall be grateful for a review. - Chandan Guha (talk) 06:23, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
You have indeed taken advantage of your previous DYK article, as this one seems much more approvable at first glance when compared to I first saw your earlier article. Good job! Anyway, there are two NPOV issues that require your attention. This article talks about "the holy city of Shirdi" and "the super deluxe luxury train." Please consider rephrasing those. —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 13:44, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking up the review. Action taken. - Chandan Guha (talk) 14:04, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
Much better! I have a question about the hook now. I know little of trains, but are you sure that a sentence structure like "the elevation [...] rises" is proper English? Furthermore, I would like to know if the measurements of height have been properly jotted down.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 14:30, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- There seems to be some mix up in data because of conversions. The source puts all data in British units. I have also changed over metric system first to Briish units first. Now, it is okay. Because of the doubt about rise in elevation I have reworded the original hook noted below as ALT3 and ALT4. - Chandan Guha (talk) 16:18, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- ALT3
- ... that the Bhusawal-Kalyan railway line in western India rises by 970 ft (296 m) within a span of 9.5 mi (15 km) across Thul Ghat?
- ALT4
- ... that the Bhusawal-Kalyan railway line in western India faces a 1:37 gradient across Thul Ghat?
