• ... that the D.E. Frantz House (pictured) is the only Victorian house in Aspen, Colorado that still has its oriel window?

• 16px It's a hold for now. Date/length okay. No copyvio or close paraphrasing (besides needed descriptions of architectural features) found. The biggest problem is the West End Victorian website, which doesn't look like it has editorial oversight. The cite to Bing map image is also questionable. The hook fact about the oriel window does not appear in the cited source, it actually appears in the unreliable one. Many statements such as "...almost two decades after Aspen's original silver-mining boom years had ended, and there was very little new construction in the city" are not reflected in the very short blurbs in the source. Where did West End get this info that does not appear in the other source? Are there any available NRHP documents that back this up? Froggerlaura (talk) 05:38, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for notifying me in a timely fashion! West End is part of the Aspen Historical Society's website, and was accepted here as source once before, although I can't remember which one. I would imagine they have editorial oversight, since unlike many other local historical societies Aspen has an actual budget and ca hire and pay people to do this. The NRHP docs for most of the Aspen listings are not, alas, available online, as neither the park service nor History Colorado has gotten around to digitizing them yet.

The Bing Maps link is purely to back up the statements about the surrounding houses in the neighborhood; it was accepted when I nominated Matthew Callahan Log Cabin a while back. Daniel Case (talk) 13:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
