:* The 2x expansion of an unreferenced BLP is technically correct, but the article was 22787 characters, before the huge list of compositions was removed on 19 July. The rules are unclear about whether this 2x expansion would qualify. Spot checking with dup detector finds no significant copyvios or close paraphrasing. However, the English of the article is often cumbersome, idiomatic and with inconsistent use of tenses. For example, the sentence with the hook fact, "Till 2009 he had composed 44 symphonies and became the most prolific symphony composer of Britain." In the third para, the Newsome ref only covers the tuba and first concerto sentences, and the earlier bulk of the para is unreferenced. QPQ done. NPOV enough, but some critical commentary would be desirable, as we get no sense of what his music is like or if it is thought to be good or otherwise. ::::* I think it would be reasonable to say that the the compositions should have been a bulleted list in any event, and if so, would not have counted towards the DYK total. WP is meant to be a summary, and a huge list of compositions from a minor composer does not seem appropriate, so please don't add it back in. Yes, common sense suggests that it now meets the 2x expansion for an unreferenced BLP. Edwardx (talk) 10:33, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Derek Bourgeois

 • ... that Derek Bourgeois, who became Britain's most prolific symphony composer in 2009, said that the symphonies came "tumbling out"?
 • ALT1 ... that Derek Bourgeois, since 2009 Britain's most prolific composer of symphonies, said that they came "tumbling out"?

2x expanded and sourced (BLP) by Skr15081997 (talk). Self nominated at 12:40, 19 July 2014 (UTC).

 • Symbol question.svg The 2x expansion of an unreferenced BLP is technically correct, but the article was 22787 characters, before the huge list of compositions was removed on 19 July. Edwardx (talk) 10:20, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
 • Template:Ping Thanks for the review. The long list of compositions was added by Derek Bourgeois himself (see article's history). When the rule's are unclear we are supposed to use commonsense. If you insist I can add the list but I will do it by adding "*" before every composition. Actually I did a little mistake, I should have made the list bulleted instead of removing it. What do you say?--Skr15081997 (talk) 10:23, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
