::::*I see. I can't see any "stamping" in the source though, just patting. The headline does say "woman who caught fire at mass". Anyway:

Donal Reid

  • Comment: First sentence of very last paragraph. For April Fools' Day.

5x expanded by Litelad (talk). Self-nominated at 19:26, 14 March 2020 (UTC).

  • Symbol question.svg 5x expansion verified. New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits. Regarding the hook, this doesn't really fit the description of an April Fools hook, which is that the hook could be read as a double entendre. The language you're using is also inaccurate: she didn't catch fire, her coat did. I suggest writing the hook this way:
  • ALT1: ... that retired Gaelic footballer Donal Reid put out the flames when an elderly woman's coat caught fire in his local church? Yoninah (talk) 18:16, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
  • That is a good suggestion. Litelad (talk) 01:52, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Although the detail seems overlong. Would the following be a further improvement?
  • ALT2: ... that former footballer Donal Reid rescued a woman whose coat caught fire in his local church? Litelad (talk) 13:17, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Template:Ping yes, shorter is always better. But he didn't just "rescue" her; he stamped out the flames and burned his hands in the process. Could you write it a little more descriptively? Yoninah (talk) 18:05, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
  • I see. I can't see any "stamping" in the source though, just patting. The headline does say "woman who caught fire at mass". Anyway:
  • ALT3: ... that former footballer Donal Reid used his bare hands to put out the coat of a woman when it caught fire in his local church? Litelad (talk) 00:59, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
